"The Wild Life" at Smith and Vallee
August has been quite the art viewing month with the Art Fair, First Thursday Artwalk, a trip to Vancouver BC,
and a host of other art viewing opportunities. We did some camping over the weekend at Larabee State Park just south of Bellingham and stopped by the Smith and Vallee Gallery on our return trip.
A group show titled, The Wild Life is currently showing and includes a variety of mediums. The artists featured are:Becky Fletcher, Dan Friday, Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, Kat Houseman, Kelly O'Dell, Lindsay Kohles, Max Grover, Michael Felber, Raven Skyriver, and Shelley Muzylowski Allen.
A great China Rockfish painting by Beck Fletcher.
A bison painting by Kat Housman.
A spectacular glass salmon by I believe by Raven Skywater.
Kelly O’Dell's rhinos are stunning!
These fun mixed media collages by Max Grover were included as well.
Michael Ferber's works were colored pencil over watercolor.
I don't think that this was part of the exhibition, but I liked the execution and format.
Smith and Vallee is open 7 days a week in Edison Washington, which is a small town maybe 10 minutes west of I-5, and 15 or 20 miles south of Bellingham. They always have quality work on display and is worth the short detour for a visit.
