SAM Asian Art Museum - CHIHO AOSHIMA: REBIRTH OF THE WORLD

I stopped by on Sunday and checked out this show. Obviously anime inspired imagery. There are a number of small watercolor/gouche paintings many of which are witty and fun. The exhibition's "show" piece is a digital mural that must be 10' x 100'. If I read the statement correctly, I believe that the artist started more or less out as a digital designer and is slowly incorporating hand drawn elements into her work. Kind of backwards when compared to most artists, but it makes sense if you stop to think about it in this era.

There was this nice Mark Tobey in another exhibit.
