Decide - šəɬ√x̌ə́č-əb Completed

This sculpture celebrates the life of J17, a southern resident killer whale that was named Princess Angeline. She was born in1977 and lived until 2019 and was considered an important matriarch of the J pod. This piece considers the complex role of orcas in both Western and First Nations culture and confronts the viewer with their perspective concerning cultural appropriation. This should be the final artwork of my Obligatory Dialect series
