New Piece Completed: Hood

I put the final touches on this small piece yesterday, titled "Hood". Hood is a reference to Hood Point, which is a point on the shoreline of Hood Canal, a few miles south of Stavis Bay. It is a miniature piece at 1" x 5" x 6 1/2" and is my standard acrylic on wood, in this case poplar. I tend to use poplar as it mills nicely and accepts water-based paint quite well. The frame and parts were kicking around the studio for a few months as I could not find the time to complete the work before the "Contemporary Realism" show at Lynn Hanson Gallery all the way back in early February.
