COVID-19 Lockdown Museum Item 2 - Winged Victory of Samothrace
This image of the Winged Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre in Paris is a bit of a cliche, since we've all seen images of it hundreds if not thousands of times. It is one of those items that if you see in person it will really make you pause and "take it all in". The statue is set at the top of a staircase with a great deal of space to let it "breath". Exceptionally thought out by the designers and installers at the Louvre. This is also one of the first classic images that I studied in art history that I finally saw in person.
