Joseph Steininger - Stencil Art installation at the Portland Airport
Over the last year I've been getting to know Joseph Steininger by visiting his studio as part of the Pioneer Square art walk each month. He's landed a great opportunity to install 40 some odd pieces at the Portland airport. They should be hanging in a couple of weeks and will remain there for approximately one year.
He works with spray paint on wood panel and creates stencils for each layer or color. Very similar to creating an old school posterization. His studio is open every first Thursday from 5-8 for the First Thursday Seattle Art Walk, every Second Saturday from noon - 5 as part of the TK Hall Collective's open studios, and by appointment., his website can be found here.
