A friend of mine, Kirsten Anderson invited me to a studio opening last Friday night at the Gasworks studios located just north of Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union.
There was a really good turn out! I'n never been there before. The building is a bit of a "Winchester Mansion" in the upstairs portion as there seems to be staircases going every which way to a variety of small studios.

Canadian Artist Robert Marchessault's landscapes are hanging at Foster White gallery this month. Quite a body of work as there must have been 25+ paintings shown.
He has shown at Fost White a couple of times before. The works have an illuminated quality to them that I enjoy. Greg Kucera Gallery had Sheri Markowitz's new work. It consisted of her familiar beaded sculptures, however, these didn't appear to have the "taxidermy" kind of forms I'm familiar with. They took on many different shapes and looks. I must admit I have not seen her work for some time, so these may not a new thing.
