New Piece Finished

I recently finished this piece, Analog - The Same as it Ever Was. As usual, it is acrylic on wood and 1 1/2" x 11" x 11" in dimensions. I've been experimenting with some variables in my work recently. First, I've including an insert area in some works. Much like a mat in a picture frame, the laser engraved gold colored area with the geometric pattern is where I've inserted this. Another new technique was trying some salt weathering on the surface as well. Identical to using salt with watercolor, I added some rack salt to the surface after applying a wash. You can see it the most with the whitish dots in the photo. I was looking for a salt spray feel, and I think I hit it pretty good.

Tantalizing - Finished

One of my pieces that has taken the longest to complete is Tantalizing. I built the frame for this probably 6 or 7 years ago. I "got stuck" for a while. The title comes from an old Washington State Department of Fish and Game pamphlet about squdding. Acrylic on wood, and it is on the small side at 1" x 7" x 12".
